A Comfortable, Affordable, '70s Ranch Style Home

Pioneer Spring Pool

About us and our home

The Pioneer Spring Bed & Breakfast is a place where you can feel at home. Relaxed and informal best describe the atmosphere at the Pioneer Spring. Our goal is to create a peaceful, non-pressured environment for our guests ... and for ourselves. Our house is very nice, the pool & garden are lovely, and the breakfast is great.

Amid the desert…A garden

The waters of the Pioneer Spring have allowed us to create a unique environment among the red rock canyons of Moab. Our swimming pool is a luxury when the temperature soars in the desert around. Walk across our lush lawn and sip from the pristine running waters of the Spring. Relax in the shade under the largest trees in Grand County. Explore our 12 acre back yard and find native cactus and shrubs. Rabbits will scamper from the bushes as you approach and lizards will scurry across the rocks.

Breakfast at the Spring [breakfast menu]

Our breakfast is second to none! Our guests choose from a complete menu including fresh breads, good coffee & juice, and a full meal, made-to-order and served in minutes by your hosts - former owners of the Star diner - Marc & Terry. On the deck or in the dining room, breakfast here is the best in town.

About the Bedrooms [more photos]

The five bedrooms have a cozy, warm, and inviting feel. These rooms are small and nicely decorated, but most important they are comfortable. Three of the rooms have private baths, (which are directly across the hall). Two of the rooms share a bath.

About the Spring

At one time the Pioneer Spring was part of the historic Jackson ranch which first filed for water rights in 1896. Prior to that Freemont Indians lived in the hills surrounding the Spring. The grove of trees near the Spring are among the largest in the Moab valley. This natural setting attracts a large variety of birds. The shade, the lush lawn, and the water combine to cool the yard. So, when the temperature soars, come back to the oasis; come back to the Pioneer Spring. The Pioneer Spring is one of only a very few artesian springs in the Moab area. This is the joy and soul of our home. 40,000 gallons per day of pristine water percolate up from the earth and into our back yard. The water from the Spring feeds our gardens and our home. Come drink and swim the same water that has sustained man and beast alike for centuries.
